"Christmas is a sad season for the poor", and i truly resonate with this. when i was little, i always wished for a Christmas tree taller than me, but my parents couldn't afford it. growing up in a poor family was tough, sometimes, we had nothing on our plates, and we went to bed hungry because there was nothing to eat. waking up hungry was the worst feeling, but despite all this, i didn't despise or get angry with my parents. i knew deep down that they were trying their best to make it work. my life as a little girl was very poor and sad, but I always believed that there was a silver lining in all of it.
my family ensured we had what we needed, not necessarily what we wanted. that was fine by me, and i understood. i didn't get spoiled, but it taught me to appreciate what i had. learning the value of things became a significant part of my life.
but you know what? now, i'm incredibly happy because i can finally afford to buy a tall christmas tree! going through tough times taught me something huge — appreciating what others give you, whether it's money or gifts. life is tough for everyone, and we're all putting in hard work. that's why when someone supports you or gives you a gift, it's important to cherish it. don't take it for granted because they put in a lot to make it happen.
may this Christmas season bring your family closer together because, after all, Christmas is all about family and sharing love with each other.
