I recently went to Amsterdam and visited the VVG museum and saw his Sunflowers painting for the first time. I cried. I love the painting, I love the flower and I am inspired by Vincent’s resilience in creating art in a world that did not nurture him. I am also moved by the love letters he wrote to a particular sex worker, a love affair I discovered when I went to the Prostitute Museum.
