A girl came to my office, a bit worried about the new girl in the room next to hers. āSheās still with her client, and itās been over an hour. But he only paid for half an hourā¦ā she said. While itās the girlās responsibility to manage her time, I decided to check the room for security reasons.
Well, it wasnāt okay. We discovered the problem: each room has a big wall clock to track time, and itās up to the girl to manage it. But I never imagined Iād hire someone who couldnāt read an analog clock! She confessed that she could only read digital clocks and had no idea how much time had passed.
I tried to confront the client about his honesty, implying he must have known his time was up. But he just laughed and said, that it is not really his problem. Life isnāt always fair.
Lesson learned. From now on, the entrance interview will include a new question: Can you read an analog clock? :)
